Sounds New offers a wide range of opportunities for composers and performers through its diverse call for scores models—ranging from Bring Your Own and Performer Presents formats to composer-led concerts, chapter-provided performers (with stipends covered by the composer), exclusive membership calls, open calls for non-members, collaborative events with other chapters, universities, civic centers, and professional venues, as well as presentations at national gatherings. Each call is carefully defined with clear parameters, ensuring fairness and clarity. The organization also supports members by allowing them to host recitals under supervision, provided that programming includes multiple members’ works rather than single-composer concerts. Beyond live performance, NACUSA champions innovation with its annual electronics-only installation, which has already featured works by over 100 composers since its launch in 2022, and celebrates its community through yearly album releases, including projects recognized with Global Music Awards. Incorporated in Georgia, Sounds New has proudly presented music in every U.S. state, continuing its mission to connect and elevate contemporary composers nationwide.
